Is Banofi made of banana crop waste?
Banofi started with banana crop waste, and our advanced processing methods now integrate diverse cellulosic inputs creating a more dynamic and future-ready material.
What is the material made of?
A plant-forward composite: Cellulose + plant fibres, rubber, seaweed-derived polymers, and mineral fillers (98% bio-based). A 2% PU topcoat improves longevity; a 100% cotton backer supports structure.
Is Banofi 100% plant-based?
Not yet. The material is 98% bio-based. We’re continuing R&D to reduce polymer reliance and target 100% bio-based by 2027. Balancing durability and true sustainability takes time.

What’s the shelf life?
Stored correctly, panels have passed testing for over 5 years of shelf life.
What size is a panel?
39" × 27" (~7.5 sq ft) per panel.
Can I order a swatch bundle?
Yes, it includes 18 swatches (each 3.5" × 3.5") so you can compare variations up close.
What colours are available?
Standard leather tones + selected fashion colours, available in the shop. No MOQ for standard materials.
Can you match custom colours?
Yes, send our lab a physical sample. MOQ: 50 units. Lead time: 4–6 weeks.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. Most orders ship within 3-4 working days.
What are shipping fees?
Fees vary by destination and package size/weight; calculated at checkout or quoted for bulk.
What certifications do you have?
USDA BioPreferred, PETA-approved, REACH (EU), California Prop 65.
